Membrane Switches

The membrane switch is usually decorative and often the first thing your customer will see, so it’s important that it is of the highest quality and aesthetically pleasing to make a strong impression.

The membrane switch is typically mounted on a flat enclosure but can also accommodate regular curved shapes. A single ribbon cable usually connects the switch to the PCB through a single slot in the mounting panel.

This design can be customised with many variations, for example, by laminating further layers into the switch it is possible to add additional features such as snap domes, ESD/RFI shielding films, lighting panels, and embedded surface mount components.

Available enhancements include:

  • PCB-mounted and conductive silver ink types.
  • Graphite ink for high-usage applications.
  • Embossing, selective texturing and raised graphics.
  • Tactile snap dome and polydomes.
  • Embedded display LEDs and backlighting.
  • Base substrates including polyester, polycarbonate and polyurethane.
  • High-performance adhesives tailored for various environments and applications.
